Bulgarian feels… oddly chill for a Slavic language. Unlike Russian or Polish, there are no crazy noun cases — one of the rare Slavic languages that ditched them. But don’t celebrate yet; verbs will still make you sweat.
It uses the Cyrillic alphabet, but locals write texts in Latin letters half the time, especially younger people. “Добро утро” (“good morning”) becomes just “dobro utro” on WhatsApp, and nobody complains.
Sofia Bulgarian is pretty standard, but go to Plovdiv or Varna and you’ll hear softer accents and extra vowels sneaking in. There’s also a bit of Turkish influence in everyday words because of history — you’ll hear “чекмедже” (chekmedzhe, drawer) and suddenly realize it came straight from Turkish.
Slang is chaotic. Kids say “яко” (yako, meaning “cool”), “кеф” (kef, meaning “fun”), and mix English casually:
"Айде, movie вечер, става ли?"
(“Come on, movie night, yeah?”)
Best way to learn? Skip classrooms. Sit in a Bulgarian café, order a banitsa (cheese pastry), and eavesdrop. People talk loudly, switch topics mid-sentence, and gesture like their lives depend on it. You’ll pick up more Bulgarian in one weekend than a month of grammar drills.

We’ve got a team that’s oddly diverse. Some are language nerds, some are techies who enjoy making websites and SEO stuff work, and then there are project managers who somehow manage to keep everyone from losing their minds. Not easy.
